We love New York and we love trying out new restaurants, so I thought it was about time I put together our top eats in New York. Partly for new readers and partly because I keep writing them all out in emails to friends and its a lot easier to just send a link to my blog. The links will mostly take you to the Yelp reviews, which is our bible when we are travelling. You can always just check me out on Yelp for all my reviews from all over.
Buvette (West Village) – a cute little French café that has simple but delicious food and relatively good coffee (it is America after all). My go to on the menu is simply the muesli with fresh fruit and yoghurt.
Laughing Man (West Village) – this is Hugh Jackmans’ coffee shop in NY and it is pretty good. It literally only does coffee though, so you might need to grab a snack from elsewhere. Nice to grab a flat white before a long day of exploring.
Palma (West Village) – Follow the advice of virtually all of the 500 Yelp reviews and get the mushroom pasta! It was delicious. They have a great menu and a gorgeous little courtyard out the back.
Uva (Upper East Side) – the mozzarella salad at this place is so delicious. Everything is really yummy, and bonus points – it doesn’t take bookings so when you turn up at 6pm, you can get a table.
Marta (East Village) – a very trendy pizza place, traditional Italian style with thin pizza and sparse but amazing toppings. It is very popular, so you could have a wait of over an hour.
The Greek (West Village) – Another great little restaurant. This had a wonderful ambiance with very cool lighting and delicious meatballs and dips.
