Pregnant in Las Vegas
When we told people we were going to Las Vegas at 7 months pregnant a lot of them looked at us like we had 3 heads! There is lots to do in Las Vegas when you are pregnant!
We had a baby to shop for! Get there early (we were there for the 9am opening) and bring a suitcase filled with water bottles and snacks – preferably a 4-wheeled one so you can pop everything in it and not have to carry around heavy bags. Snacks were important too, there was only a StarBucks and a handful of other fast food places so I appreciated my banana. I also appreciated the double chocolate chip frappuccino.
Early mornings seemed to be best for me, before it got too hot (it was still 35C/100F at 9am). It was still refreshing to pop down in the afternoon though and just quickly dip under and feel beautifully weightless. Bring your bump confidence though, I like to think I was rocking my bikini with my belly out but it was hard to ignore the tipsy 22 year olds bouncing around in their itsy bitsy bikinis.
We had plans to see Cirque du Soliel O but time got away from us for booking tickets so we didn’t make it in to any of the early sessions (I didn’t think I would make a 10pm kick off). If you are organised though you can make the most of a comfy chair, air conditioning and an amazing performance!
Mostly you don’t spend much time in your room in Vegas, but afternoon naps and just relaxing in the room were so nice in our corner suite at the Aria. You are pregnant, if it’s your first bub then it will be a while before you and your partner are alone in a nice hotel room again!
It may sound ridiculous, but we just wandered between casinos, we caught the free monorail and we stopped at almost every casino along the way and I had a sit down, a drink and a bit of a gamble.
