So another week of workouts under the belt and this week I managed to even get some swimming in this week, which was nice! Really should have grabbed some swims earlier in the week though, we had such balmy weather here in Sydney it was gorgeous.
I have been loving my Monday night boxing classes, so I made sure to get to it again this week even though I had to leave a little early for my Mother in law's birthday dinner. It was awesome actually because I did a double up on the exercises and it was still a 45 minute workout.
A quick run around the block after work to get a workout in for the day, not a long run but at least I got something in. My calves were still really sore after Stadium Stomp so I was pretty happy to even get out there.
Slightly more lengthy run on Thursday, it was so warm I was literally dripping with sweat. It felt like spring, it was glorious! Good practice run for City 2 Surf, but my back was a little sore after the run.
I had an unscheduled rest day (Wednesday was the planned day) when I woke up on Friday morning with a terribly sore back. I had the same issue when I was in high-school, it is usually resolved with more core work and lots and lots of hamstring stretching. The swimming definitely helps though, so that was where I headed bright and early after dropping Marcus off for another Oxfam walk. I only did 1km but wasn't too bad for my first swim in about 6 months.
After really enjoying my Saturday swim, I headed back to the pool on Sunday morning while Marcus headed to golf. It was a little nicer because the big (50m) pool wasn't hosting as many squad teams as what it was on Saturday so there was a lot more room in the pool. I managed to get out 1200m on Sunday which wasn't bad.
How good is my swim cap? Best colour!
