So, I found there were really not that many great lists of things for people to do in Seoul. There were lots of things to do like hikes, visiting islands, beaches etc. However, those things are really not that great in Winter. Having just spent 4 weeks (including 3 weekends) in Seoul, I wanted to get out and explore my temporary home.
Here are the things I found most enjoyable and easy to do in Winter. You might also want to check out my list of things I learnt while I was in Seoul.
1. Myeongdong – This is the shopping district. It is quite expensive in some of the shops but the street vendors are quite reasonable. As there are a lot of underground passage ways and interlinking stores it is quite fun to wander around and just generally enjoy the area. There are plenty of coffee shops too so you can pop in and warm up if it gets too cold. It snowed the first time I went there!
6. Dongdaemun – I didn’t really find much here due to my giant feet and ridiculous height apparently (biggest shoe size is about a 38 incase you are wondering) but these are markets and shops that are open until 5am. There are hundreds and hundreds of stalls selling anything and everything you can imagine. I did manage to pick up a cute little baby outfit for my friends baby that arrived while I was away.
Anything else you would recommend doing in Seoul in Winter?
