Getting out and about on a Sunday morning was fun so Marcus and I headed out for a 10km walk (6.25 miles) and I easily got my Freggies in with a hearty protein rich breakfast and salad for lunch! Watching the cricket had me doing about an hour of stretching, I was really tight after our walk. Taking me to a total of 11.25 points for the day.
Another day of holidays, so whilst many went off to work (although not that many at this time of year), I gave my 5k route a practice run for the 5k Virtual Race Series! Not a bad pace considering my lack of running of late and the very hot weather. I also walked 3.5km back from Luna Park home to make it a 9 point day with the 20 minutes on the foam roller (Just quietly, you should get a million points for every minute on that thing).
Up early for a walk around Cremorne Point to see all the really committed people staking out their spots for the new years fireworks! Crazy. I also managed to get in a 15 minute strength workout in the afternoon then 20 minutes of stretching - my hamstrings and my back are feeling so much better with my evening stretching. Definitely going to be keeping that up through the year! So 8 points for the day.
WednesdayAfter a rather subdued New Years eve, we were able to get in a very hectic swim (surf was really rough so not much swimming) in the afternoon and a 2 mile walk for a 5 point day.
Great start to the week with a session with a new trainer. Inger is away for the holidays, so I was able to organise to see another trainer to keep me in routine for the week. A great 30 minute strength session, with 30 minutes of cardio on the rower, bike and eliptical and a 2 mile walk up and back. Another evening stretch session saw me hit for 11 points today.
Another day of working from home, I took the opportunity to take a rest day after my legs were crazy sore after the kettlebells yesterday. Still managed to get those freggies and water in with some FB action. I even got blueberries in today - so delicious!
Was aiming to get up early for a Saturday morning run club for an 8km run but alas I slept and slept and slept (until 9:30!!) but I did hit all my freggies and water plus some great FB action. In the afternoon I volunteered to collect donations at the cricket for the McGrath foundation. According to my fitbit I covered 14km, no wonder I was sore last night.
Absolutely smashed it - 57.25 points!!! Boom, what a way to kick off the year. Can't believe HBBC is over, it was a great way to keep motivated for the holiday period!
