I ran with my nifty new run club visor, which was absolutely essential given the beating sun. This fun run is absolutely huge and there were 85,000 people registered. I dont know how many people started/finished but I rarely had more than a square meter of road to run in which actually made it quite tricky to go the speed that I wanted to. I would be curious to go for another 14km run in a week or so just to see how different my time is when I dont have so many people around me.
The really depressing part was that literally as we were starting the run, before we had even crossed the start line, the elite runner was finishing the race. We still had technically more than 14km still to go!
We did coordinate our t-shirts well though.
Lucky for us, we were running the event with my company and I was the first one to make it to the tent (despite being the last one across the line) and I jumped straight on the physio table to get a nice hip flexor and ITB rub down and my legs are a little sore tonight but nothing really hurts which is good! The view at Bondi was absolutely amazing. Yes, this is the "dead" of winter here in Sydney town.
