So, enter a work meeting a few weeks back and the head of our General Manager stands up and says "I want to talk to you about something very dear to me, I want to talk about losing my virginity" luckily the books he was giving each of us were already on our chairs otherwise this could have been very awkward very quickly!

Reading lately
I have not been doing a lot of reading since our summer holiday back in January (despite not quite accepting that not only is January over but it will, in a matter of days, be autumn - who let that happen?). Actually, that is not entirely true. You see I have been reading a lot of journal articles and protocols and Investigator Brochures and yes they are exactly as interesting as they sound (and yes I am a dork). Now, I am solely blaming my lack of personal reading time on one thing;
This book is killing me. It was recommended by my mother in law who I usually have very similar book tastes to, but this one just didn't gel for me. I actually think I have worked out why too! You see most of my reading tends to be done in short spurts such as 15 minutes before bed, half an hour before we need to go out or if I'm really lucky - an hour on a flight. This book lends itself to long reading sessions, there are so many characters and the period jumps about from Pre-war Germany to I think present day Bondi beach and then I think 1950-1960's New York. In my short spurt reading I was thoroughly confused and I was just reading for the sake of it and not really enjoying it.

So now I am back on the reading train! I have that feeling of being excited about getting home so I can get really stuck into reading. I am going to bed early to get some more reading in while my husband is watching sports and I am happy to spend an entire flight reading!
