We were crazy last weekend, Sunday was quite a big day, we did a sand hill session in the morning and played tag rugby in the afternoon. So lucky we had a delicious dinner on Saturday night to fuel it all! The slow cooker was whipped out again and we tried a new curry, after my Massaman Beef has been so successful. This time it was Butter Chicken, loosely based on this recipe. In the process of finding this recipe, we also discovered this blog about a woman who used her slow cooker every day for a year! There are some great recipes on there I cannot wait to try, I just wish I had found it at the beginning of winter and not the end!
There are quite a few spices, I couldnt seem to find any Tandoori masala so I made my own with garlic powder, paprika and turmeric. It wasnt quite the same, but my local Woolworths didn't have it so I had to improvise and I wasnt about to buy all 12 spices that make up Tandoori masala!
It really doesnt look that appealing in photographs, but it is all about the curry smell that is still wafting through our apartment.
We served ours with some freshly steamed Jasmine rice and a few pappadums and it was delicious! I have to be honest here and say it was not as good as the Massaman, but it was still very tasty!
Who knew you could put chicken in the slow cooker? Well now we know.... a whole new world of possibilities just opened up for us!
