So, I want to talk you through some of my dream destinations, first up:
We have also watched our fair share of Shark Men and I think I could get Mr Olive on board for this trip. He has always wanted to go cage diving with great whites and with Guadalupe being so close we could combine the two trips!
The Galapagos Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands located west of Ecuador, which is the country they belong to. The Islands are young in an evolutionary sense and as a result they are very similar to Australia in that they have a number of endemic species which is why it was such an interesting place for Darwin to study evolution and begin his concept of evolution by natural selection. Yes, I am a complete science nerd.
Some of the must see's for me would be;
- blue footed boobie
- sea lions on the beach, including snorkeling with them
- tortoises: preferably ones more than 100 years old.
What else has spurred on my love of all things Galapagos? You see my lovely friends Laura and Liam (you may recognise one L from this post) spent some time travelling around the world and one of those places was the Galapagos Islands! So, they made me incredibly jealous with all their photos, here is a selection for you.
How could you NOT want to go?
