We have been without a car now for exactly 1 month, don't worry I haven't been counting the days I looked back on my calendar, and I think it is going quite well. It is definitely something we couldnt do permanently but for the next 6-12 months it is absolutely fine. Sure, we need to be very organised, cannot do anything spur of the moment without the other person but heck, it's just a car. I am becoming quite familiar with our local bus schedule and mostly just walking places on the weekend.
The last two weekends have been tough actually, as Mr Olive has been playing golf both days, so I'm either stuck at home or have to find my way to get out. Mostly that involves a bus or being dropped to a bus location on his way to golf.
I have found myself with a lot more spare time, because you don't have to be watching the road when you aren't driving do you? My google reader has 0 unread items, my transport has become my exercise and my handbag is only filled with essentials.
With that, my bus has arrived at the shopping centre, I'm off to spend the cash we are saving by not having a car!
