So I have been a little busy for the last few years, I have just finished my Masters degree in Medical Science and the wedding was quite a lot of a time hog last year. I had weekends and nights filled with either assignments, ring shopping, studying for exams or working out the wording of our wedding programs. With all that behind me, I find myself with nothing to do in the evenings and a particularly blank slate of a Saturday morning. All this spare time and nothing to fill it. So you know what I did last Saturday? I made a Lemon Meringue Pie (recipe soon to come on my blog!) and it honestly took me all day! I was also up at 5:30am in order to participate in a fun run, but I was home by 8:30am so I didnt really consider that part of the day.
So, I have two potential hobbies that I covered in that day, both of which somewhat counteract one another. Running and Cooking. However, really are either of those a "hobby"? A little google research and a hobby is something that is practiced for interest and enjoyment, which I have to say cooking definitely fullfills, but what about running? I have convinced myself to do a Half-Marathon in May, so the running is definitely a requirement! It is also probably a requirement in order to allow me to eat much of my fruits of my labour.
I am getting stuck into creating a cake masterpiece for my friends 30th birthday, but really that is not going to take me 3 months...
What are your hobbies? Can I steal one of them?

I think your logic is right. You're going to need the running if you want to keep the cooking/baking. I can't wait to see your masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteHaha, you are too funny! Running and cooking definitely go hand-in-hand, but in a very odd way. :) My main hobby has always been reading, followed closely by writing. The former tends to be more enjoyable than the latter - writing is amazing, but it be a very painful process!
ReplyDeleteI really do love to read, and does blogging count as writing? Im going to go with yes...
DeleteAah this is such a coincidence, I've taken up cooking as a post-wedding hobby too! I got married 6 weeks ago and need something to fill the void left by wedding planning.
ReplyDeleteI'm also planning to read more. Just bought Tina Fey's book and something else off Amazon called 'MWF seeks BFF'... very fitting!
