I thought I would just go with a bunch of white roses for me and a bunch of slightly smaller white roses for my girls - now im not so sure, as I have been thrust into a world of ridiculously creative and beautiful weddings to be found in the world of the blogger! Bridal magazines hardly help either!
Then I was over at my future in-laws house one evening in September last year and they had been to the growers markets that day and bought some flowers, beautiful white ranuncula's. Lucky me, I took a pretty little picture for my ever expanding wedding file because at the time I had NO idea what they were called!
I scoured the google machine and found the perfect little posy! Really shows off the beautiful layers of the ranuncula's doesnt it - and there are a few double-petal tulips in there too apparently. My flower prowess is becoming obvious isnt it?
I went to the florist all pumped up for ranuncula's, only to be informed that we might not be able to get them! Sometimes it doesnt get warmer in Australia until a bit later - we have a bit of a warm up for a few weeks in August then it gets colder again usually, but last year that didnt happen - so the ranuncula's wouldnt grow! Needless to say I set forth in search of more inspiration and stumbled across my lovely neighbour* Nicole's wedding photo:

How on earth did you decide on the flowers for your bouquet?
*Disclaimer - Nicole Kidman is not my actual neighbour and yes, I am aware that she was also born in the USA, but she got married right near where I went to high school and her Dad's medical practice is just down the road from Mr Teaspoon's parents house! So, close enough...
